Huawei is finally releasing its ultra premium laptop in France. We were able to spend some time with him.
At IFA 2022, we were able to take control of Huawei’s new very high-end laptop. Already presented in China at the beginning of the year, the Huawei MateBook X Pro (2022) has a solid technical sheet, Intel Evo i7-1260P, 16 GB of Ram, 1 TB of NVMe SSD storage, as well as a Fullview screen of 14.2 inches with 3K definition, a more comfortable 16:10 ratio for working and a pleasant 90 Hz refresh.
But the element that spoke to us the most during the grip was the touchpad of the device, an element on which we do not have the opportunity to marvel every day.
It includes many shortcuts. For example, you can vary the sound or the brightness by sliding your finger on the left or the right of the trackpad, or even scroll through the tabs on a browser by passing your finger on the top of the trackpad. Another interesting idea, but less convincing, because not yet fully developed, you can launch a screenshot by tapping twice with your knuckles, a bit like knocking on a door. Unfortunately, the feature only seems to work one out of three times.

Haptic feedback and finishes
The rather correct idea turns into real added value when we realize that Huawei has done things well by integrating haptic feedback each time we use a shortcut. This already allows you to see that a shortcut has been launched to avoid nonsense, but you can also use it as a benchmark to know where you are and how quickly you vary an element. In short, the idea is good, the execution is excellent.
To finish on the handling of the Huawei PC, let’s add that it rather flatters the retina as well as the palms of our hands. Indeed, in addition to looking great in its metal frame, it adopts a very satin touch that is not unpleasant. The keyboard was responsive and quite comfortable at first sight and we can already see ourselves typing dozens of articles on its bright 16:10 screen.

The Huawei MateBook X Pro is trading for 2199 euros. It is already possible to pre-order it and its launch is scheduled for September 16 in France.
