The Jacob Barbe affairr is adapted from the novel of the same name by the American writer William Landay published in 2012. Before becoming a successful author, the latter was in fact a prosecutor in Massachusetts for seven years, just like the character played by Chris Evans. And it was when he became a father that he had the idea of ​​writing a book. He thus became interested in the nightmare of all parents: that their own child is involved in a murder case. He also spoke about the idea for his novel during an interview conducted by his publishing house, Random House.
