While its marketing is scheduled for later this year, the Kia EV6 GT shows more precisely what it has under the hood. The sportier version of the Kia EV6 comes to be placed on the segment of electric cars reliable and fast by promising a price much lower than that of its direct competitors.
No information comes on the other hand to inform the selling price of the vehicle, which one imagines higher than that of the EV6, marketed at 48,690 euros in France.
A powerful electric passenger car
The Kia EV6 hit the European market last year and immediately won over buyers, even winning the title of ‘European Car of the Year 2022’. The South Korean manufacturer had already announced an upcoming GT version, now we know more about this model which should be marketed later this year.
If the exterior design of the EV6 GT remains quite similar to that of the basic model, there are still some small additions to reinforce the sporty dimension of this variation. But the biggest differences are found in the systems and under the hood. The Kia EV6 GT is based on Hyundai’s E-GMP platform which allows a better distribution of the 577 gross horsepower between the four wheels. Its 800 Volt compatible architecture allows ultra-fast recharging of the 77.6 kWh battery: from 10 to 80% recharging in 18 minutes depending on the manufacturer.
The Kia EV6 GT should also be able to go from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.5 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 260 km / h for a range of around 420 km, which seems quite low given the speech of the brand, which claims to want to offer here a passenger vehicle more than a vehicle designed for the tracks.
