The Last of Us 2 has just received two very different announcements, but which should delight fans who are waiting for the remaster. Get ready to find out more about this second opus.
The Last of Us 2 undoubtedly caused a lot of hype when it was released. However, whatever we think of it, it is clearly a game that will have left its mark on the video game sphere. Given such success, and Naughty Dog’s past, we were not surprised to see the announcement of a remaster for the PS5. The latter was also entitled to a new announcement which will surely please fans. And that’s not all. Another surprise is waiting for you.
New trophies and a documentary for The Last of Us 2
One of the big new features of the remaster is the roguelite mode called “No Return”. Here, the player must survive as long as possible in each game, while choosing different paths that will lead to random encounters. We can play a total of 10 characters, with for example Dina, Abby, Jesse or even Manny and Yara. For the moment, the studio has been careful not to offer us a long presentation of the gameplay. Instead, today we have the list of new trophies that will arrive with this new version of The Last of Us 2.
There are 13, and they only concern No Return mode. You can find the list below, and a little additional clarification has been provided by Naughty Dog. Your trophies obtained on the PS4 version of The Last of Us 2 will be transferred to your PS5 with the remaster. In short, it allows you to keep your Platinum (if you have it of course). This is good news for some players, and a way to get the community back into the game. That being said, what else do we have on the menu?
This time, it doesn’t concern the remaster, but rather TLOU 2 in its entirety. For good reason, a documentary entitled “ Grounded II: Making The Last of Us Part II » was announced with great fanfare. Like ” Raising Kratos » for Santa Monica, he will return to the development of this sequel which was not easy. Let’s not forget that the game was released as the Covid-19 pandemic was preparing to rage across the world. Not to mention the risks taken by the firm with regard to the script choices. If you’re interested, it will be available alongside an update arriving shortly after launch.

Here is the complete list of new trophies that can be unlocked by playing No Return mode. So, this gives you an idea of what you will have to do to obtain them, and you will see, it will not always be an easy task. Please note that they will have no influence on the Platinum trophy for the remaster of The Last of Us 2. But we know the completionists, and that won’t stop them from getting them all.

- Become The Hunter – Kill 12 enemies in a “Hunting” encounter
- Got Your Back – Win a round of “Obstacle” without your ally’s life dropping below 70%
- Burglar – Open the safe on “Capture” without killing any enemies
- Roll Call – Win a game with each character
- Modded – Complete an encounter with every available Mod
- Risk Taker – Complete 5 bets in one game
- Good Riddance – Kill 5 bosses
- Team Ellie – Complete all of Ellie’s faction challenges
- Team Abby – Complete all of Abby’s faction challenges
- True Strength – Get an S for every encounter
- May Your Survival Be Long – Win a daily game of No Return
- May Your Death Be Swift – Win a daily game of No Return on Grounded difficulty
