the latest update flattens the autonomy of smartphones, again!

Pixel smartphone users thought they were off the hook with their battery life issues. But that was without taking into account the latest update in June, which put them back in the spotlight. On Reddit, some testify that they even have to recharge their device twice in the same day to last until the next day.

A few days ago, Google rolled out its latest Feature Drop, its quarterly feature update, to compatible Pixel smartphones. Thanks to the latter, users can now choose between an animated wallpaper or another made up of emoji, or even take advantage of the improvements made to the Dictaphone application. Unfortunately, they also have to deal with old smartphone demons.

Indeed, since the installation of the update, several on Reddit have reported a big problem with their battery: the autonomy has been almost halved. Some even indicate that it is necessary for them to recharge their smartphone twice a day, otherwise they will not last until the next day. To make matters worse, some even suffer from overheating problems, a particularly bad timing with the summer just beginning.

Google Pixels still have battery issues due to an update

“I use my phone for work and my usage hasn’t changed. My Pixel 6 battery was usually at 20% when I went to bed. Now, it is rather at 15% from 6 p.m., despairs a member of Reddit. We can understand it: it has been barely a month since Google fixed the previous battery and overheating problem on its smartphones.

The concern therefore seems particularly common among Google devices, especially since each time an update is involved for their appearance. The last time, it was the application of its own search engine which was the source of the technical problems. For the moment, we don’t know more about this, except that some users also suffer from bugs in their network, which suddenly disappears until their Pixel is restarted. Hopefully an update will come soon to fix this.
