The excavations to find Delphine Jubillar, leave her relatives skeptical. They are afraid that the investigation will blindly follow the provocations of Cédric Jubillar.

Gendarmes and soldiers have been busy around the Jubillar home since January 17. The objective is to relaunch intense excavations to have the chance to find the body of Delphine Jubillar, who has been missing for more than a year.

Delphine Jubillar, a 33-year-old nurse, disappeared on the night of December 15 to 16, 2020 without leaving a trace. The search launched in the area where the Jubillar couple lived before Delphine’s disappearance could last for weeks according to the gendarmes. They are currently supported by archaeologists to find Delphine Jubillar.

The excavations were able to be relaunched on the basis of the latest clues discovered by the investigators. Among the elements, several testimonies: those of Séverine, the new companion of Cédric Jubillar and Marco, a former prisoner who attended Cédric when he was in prison. Both repeatedly cited the significance of a farm near the missing nurse’s home.

During hearings with the gendarmes, the two protagonists said that Cédric had spoken a lot about this farm which caught fire on April 15, 2021. According to Marco, the ex-convict of Cédric Jubillar, the main suspect in the disappearance of Delphine, it is there that the body of the victim would have been moved.

Decoys according to Delphine Jubillar’s entourage

Those close to Delphine Jubillar do not see these new excavations with a good eye, simply because they fear that they have been misdirected. Lawyers for several members of Delphine’s family expressed their doubts during interviews granted to BFM TV.

“We are still in necessary investigations, but which are linked to the provocations of Cédric Jubillar who likes to distill information, to tell things knowing that it will be repeated”, explained Me Philippe Pressecq, lawyer for the cousin of Delphine Jubillar, to BFMTV. Same story with Me Mourad Battikh, lawyer for the uncle and aunt of Delphine Jubillar. “Cédric Jubillar first directed the investigators on absolutely eccentric tracks”, he believes.

Cédric Jubillar has been very talkative since the start of the investigations. Auditioned several times, Delphine’s husband offered several hypotheses to the investigators. He had directed the gendarmes on the track of the lover of Delphine Jubillar or even on the companion of this same lover.

In pre-trial detention since June 18, 2021, Cédric also sows doubt, by sending coded messages to his friend Séverine. The testimonies of Marco, to whom he would have confided in prison, also strongly influenced the investigation. The former Corsican detainee had told investigators that Cédric had told him of killing his wife with a knife and burying her in a place that “has already burned.”
