The lion's den: all lions love this idea

That doesn't often happen in the "Den of the Lions": The relatively simple idea of a former pharmaceutical saleswoman convinces all investors.

More muscles with less work, a good mood with daylight glasses, a cleaner car thanks to a children's bag and healthy fast food – these are the products that were looking for donors this Monday in the "Den of the Lions". But especially the idea of a founder convinced all investors through the bank.

Seldom has a presentation been as successful as that by Jaqueline Torres Martinez. The former pharmaceutical representative wants to move the classic cold bath into the shower with "MediDusch" and has invented a shower foam for this purpose, which is based on essential oils such as menthol and eucalyptus. This should save time and water and also prevent one or the other cold. For 75,000 euros it offers 20 percent shares.

The idea and the sales skills of the founder are so well received that everyone wants to get involved. Dr. Georg Kofler (63) strikes first, Ralf Dümmel (53) follows suit and immediately takes Carsten Maschmeyer (61) with him and so on. Ultimately, everyone applies to work with "MediDusch" and even improves their offers in order to outbid each other. "Am I dreaming, am I …?" the saleswoman is happy with tears in her eyes and finally enters into the combination deal with Maschmeyer and Dümmel.

Simple idea, easy to understand – Marc Duttle and David Seidewitz have also internalized this principle. They present a dirt bag for children, or "Schmuki" for short, which is supposed to protect the car upholstery and the nerves of parents. Nils Glagau (44) and Dümmel think the idea of a dirt-repellent sack for dirty children's legs is good – but want twice as much as the 20 percent company shares offered for their 100,000 euros. The founders choose the latter.

Ella's base gang and the dreaded cold chain

Former doctor Ella Della Rovere wants to bring "healthy fast food" to supermarkets with her son and a cook. Ella's Basen Gang is the name of the start-up that the 68-year-old founded for this purpose and wants to bring the cooked vegetables to the refrigerated shelf without any additives. Advantage: The glasses should be optimally combinable with any diet. Disadvantage: The food market, which is a deterrent for many lions, including the cold chain problem. Glagau – as Orthomol managing director, an expert in the health sector – still dares and acquires 20 percent for 150,000 euros. And the cooperation with a very personable doer at the same time.

However, it didn't work out for the sports-loving brothers Lukas and Bastian Erdmann and their sports cuffs. With the "mybimaxx" bandage it should be possible to achieve the same muscle growth in strength training in half the time and despite reducing weights. The trick lies in an artificially created congestion of blood through the cuff, which plays an enormous muscle strain on the brain.

The product doesn't really convince a lion – Glagau even pulls out its claws, for him strength training is an attitude: "If you want to achieve certain results, you have to do something every day." Judith Williams enthusiastically reveals that she has recently discovered strength training for herself: "Suddenly after two weeks of training – which is really short – I get out of the shower and think like this: Hm, not so bad Judith, there is still something else get out of it. Give her another chance! " The brothers don't get a chance from the lions.

Mark Wallerberger and Michael Geyer also have to leave the studio without a deal. Their product is called "Pocket Sky" and is a kind of daylight lamp in the shape of glasses, which, so to speak, shows the brain a sunrise directly in front of the eyes. Basically, it's about suppressing the sleep hormone melatonin. That should help against both the winter blues and jetlegs. For 200,000 euros you get 20 percent – although Nico Rosberg seems very interested and the product receives a lot of praise for the design, ultimately no lion gets on board. Classic case of: The idea is good, but the lions are not ready yet.
