The Little Mermaid: where did you see Jonah Hauer-King, the charming Prince Eric?

On the occasion of the release of “The Little Mermaid”, a live remake of the famous Disney classic, a little focus on the interpreter of the charming Prince Eric, Jonah Hauer-King.

Remake in live action of the famous Disney classic released in 1990, The Little Mermaid by Rob Marshall is led by the young Halle Bailey in the skin of the title role. At his side, we find big names like Melissa McCarthy in Ursula and Javier Bardem in King Triton, but also the lesser known Jonah Hauer-King, who plays the irresistible Prince Eric.

Born to an American theater producer and therapist mother and a London restaurateur father, Jonah enrolled after high school at St John’s College in Cambridge where he obtained a degree in theology. At the same time and with his passion for comedy, he took part in various plays and passed several castings, for the big and the small screen.

After appearing in four short films, Jonah Hauer-King plays the son of Danny Huston in the drama The Last Photograph (2017) directed by the latter. Following this promising first attempt, the native of London appeared in the mini-series Howards End and The Four Daughters of Doctor March, then the English films Caravaggio and I, Old Boys and Ashes in the snow.
