fun, news, tips… what else?

Over time, limestone leaves white marks on the glasses. However, there is a natural and anti-waste trick that can overcome it.

Whether alone, with family or when you receive friends, it is not possible to eat from dirty dishes, or those that look like it. Glasses are certainly the parts that lose their shine the fastest. Even cleaning them in the dishwasher or by hand with special soap, they will whiten over time. The limestone present in the water will gradually leave traces. If the whitish glasses are not really dirty and these traces do not leave a taste, the appearance is quite off-putting.

We can therefore quickly be tempted to throw them away while they are still quite usable, but no longer really presentable. There are, however, tried-and-true old-school methods to restore the shine to old glasses. All with natural, economical elements, while avoiding waste. You can indeed use the skin of oranges.

Let the glasses and barks soak

citrus fruits, because of their acidity, can indeed be very useful for household chores, and in particular for removing certain stains or degreasing a surface. To remove the white marks from your glasses, fill your sink or a container large enough to hold them, with very hot water. Then throw in the peels of several oranges. It is possible to use other citrus fruits to avoid waste. Then put your glasses in this solution and let them soak for five minutes. Remove them and wash them normally by hand with dish soap.

In the same way, you can soak your glasses in a solution composed ofone cup of baking soda and three tablespoons of liquid soap for 500 ml of white vinegar. It is also possible to steam them and then wipe them carefully with a soft cloth. You can also rub glasses with a cloth soaked in a solution of salt and lemon juice. Finally, to remove small scratches, rub your glasses with toothpaste and a used toothbrush.
