Big day for the franchise Like a Dragon. In addition to announcements of Like a Dragon 8 and Like a Dragon: Ishin, another title was presented. Entitled Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name – the naming department was certainly paid by the number of characters – it will be centered around Kiryû Kazuma.
The story should make clear what happened to Kiryû between Yakuza 6 and Yakuza 7 on the one hand, then until its appearance in Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio nevertheless warns that one should not expect an adventure of a scale similar to that of a classic episode. This does not mean that it will be a cheap story, and the game will still offer much more content than a DLC. On the other hand, we already know that this episode wants to please fans of Yakuza from the first hour. With more classic action-adventure gameplay, and still the usual tone of the series.
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is scheduled for release in 2023 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC. It should logically fit between the episode ishinannounced for February 21, and Like a Dragon 8 in 2024.
