the next big patch promises to be huge, it’s going to bleed

Even though fans won’t be treated to any expansions for Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian Studios hasn’t yet said its last word on its latest masterpiece. A new big patch is therefore approaching.

Even if Baldur’s Gate 3 is a resounding masterpiece, Larian Studios continues to work on new content. Their efforts now seem to be aimed at a particular segment of players: those who like to make the most evil choices. The rest of the community will also be happy to know that mod support is coming soon.

Evil spreads in Baldur’s Gate 3

It is unfortunately an established fact: there will be no major DLC for Baldur’s Gate 3, nor a fourth opus. However, Larian Studios has not yet completely said goodbye to its latest masterpiece. After a major patch focused on new ways to show all our love to our companions, the next one will take a completely different direction. Game director Swen Vincke had some exciting news to share along those lines. “ They’re working on evil endings right now. I’ve seen a few, and they’re really evil. Players with a penchant for it should therefore be satisfied “.

This is not the first time that Larian Studios has worked on fleshing out the end of the game. At its launch, it was considered to be rushed a little too quickly. A few patches later, as an epilogue, we were treated to a touching gathering of all the friends we met during the adventure… provided we chose the happiest ending. Evil players have been left a bit on the sidelines so far. This should soon change, and obviously in a particularly bloody way. Fans of the character Dark Pulsions must already have a predatory smile on their lips.

Mod support is coming for everyone to enjoy

The other extremely anticipated element, this time by the community at large, is the arrival of mod support. Here again, Swen Vincke had good news to announce. If it is currently possible to mod Baldur’s Gate 3 (your servant has around fifty active mods on the game), these can easily break a game. Mod enthusiasts were therefore waiting for a more stable solution from Larian Studios. The studio would, however, like such support to also be cross-platform on PS5 and Xbox Series, and not exclusive to PC.

A completely laudable initiative, which further strengthens the players’ sympathy towards the creators of Baldur’s Gate 3. This, however, comes with bittersweet news. It could indeed be that the upcoming big patch will be the last of this magnitude. “ In the future it will mostly be bugfixing, because we want to work on new things “. Swen Vincke, however, had some encouraging words to share with fans. “ We’ve grown a lot with Baldur’s Gate 3. I think you can be excited about what that growth means for our next game “. An appointment has obviously been made.
