PARIS (Reuters) – The French government continues to rule out no scenario on pension reform despite union warnings, including that of an age measure via an amendment in the next Finance Bill of the Social Security (PLFSS), the Minister of Labor said on Tuesday.

An amendment integrated into the PLFSS 2023, which will be debated in Parliament this fall, “is part of the scenarios”, confirmed Olivier Dussopt at the microphone of RTL, even if “it is not quite settled”. “We are in the process of thinking and working on the subject,” he added.

“We are at a time when we have to make decisions on the substance and on the method. It is normal for the government to keep all possibilities,” said Olivier Dussopt.

“The CFDT will be headwind and in opposition (…) if the government decides to go through the PLFSS to reform pensions”, warned Sunday the secretary general of the CFDT, Laurent Berger.

“We must make sure to bring with us and convince as many players as possible – the CFDT is one of them – (…) possibly with counterparties”, replied Olivier Dussopt on Tuesday, referring to the question of arduousness and the minimum level of pension.
