Disney+ is finally ready to lift the veil on its adaptation of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The series today not only shows its first trailer, but also reveals its launch date.

Available in VF above and in VOSTFR below, the first trailer for Percy Jackson and the Olympians is out. Already adapted through two films in 2010 and 2013, the popular saga of fantasy novels by Rick Riordan this time adopts the series format. Disney+ took the opportunity to tell us that the first two episodes, out of eight, would be broadcast on December 20. This launch was also co-written by the original author with Jon Steinberg.

A first glimpse for Percy Jackson and the Olympians

Carried by Walker Scobell in the title role, Percy Jackson focuses on a young boy who discovers that he is the son of the sea god Poseidon. This powerful demigod will discover that the rest of the Greek gods have settled in the United States. Accompanied by his satyr friend Grover (Aryan Simhadri) and Athena’s daughter Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries), he will then carry out quests (and in particular find the primitive lightning) linked to a great prophecy to save Olympus.

The rest of the solid cast includes Lin-Manuel Miranda as Hermes, Toby Stephens as Poseidon, Jason Mantzoukas as Dionysus, Glynn Turman as Charon, the late Lance Reddick as Zeus, and Jessica Parker Kennedy as Medusa. See you in a few weeks to see the result!

Disney+

  • Disney classics in one place
  • Exclusive Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars series
  • 4K, HDR and Atmos at no extra cost

It was highly anticipated and did not disappoint. Disney+ is not a rival to Netflix, but a complementary offering, aimed particularly at children (young and old) and more broadly towards the family. The Star universe, for its part, is starting to bear fruit by offering more and more original or exclusive series.
