While rumors about a release this year of the PS5 Pro are rife, a new leak seems to indicate that the console will present extraordinary performance. In a recent YouTube video, leaker Moore’s Law is Dead talks in particular about games running in 4K/120 FPS, thanks to the upscaling technology in development at Sony.
This week, almost everyone agreed that the PS5 Pro will be released in a few months. According to analyst Serkan Toto, relayed by numerous specialist media, the improved version of the PS5 could be launched in the second half of this year, probably during the summer. If for the moment, it is still prudent to take this information with a grain of salt, it seems that leaks are starting to multiply.
In the wake of this information, leaker Moore’s Law Is Dead has published a video providing some additional details about the console’s performance. According to him, Sony plans to promote the latter as being capable of running games in 4K/120 FPS. A very tempting promise, especially for a home console, and far from being unrealizable.

Among the many pieces of information that leaked during the Insomniac Games hack, there was notably the upscaling technology in development at Sony. Concretely, the firm is preparing a solution similar to Nvidia’s DLSS or AMD’s FSR, making it possible to increase the in-game FPS rate while maintaining high definition. It is therefore this technology that would allow the PS5 Pro to reach 120 FPS in 4K.
If, as always, it is better to wait for official information on the subject, it is clear that everything agrees. The PS5 already allows certain titles to run at 120 FPS, but the list is still limited. Future upscaling technology would therefore allow the Pro model to apply this processing to all, or at least a large part of, games. If the rumor is true, we should soon find out more about it.
