In addition to Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G
that the Chinese manufacturer has just announced, the Redmi Note 11 and 11S have the mission of representing the entry level in the most beautiful way.

No 5G compatibility for these new smartphones, but great technical promises, both in terms of the screen and the photo.

Redmi Note 11S: a balanced smartphone

The Redmi Notes have been real benchmarks in terms of value for money for a few years now, and these new models are taking up the torch with brilliance.

Smaller than the Redmi Note 11 Pro, the Note 11S nevertheless takes up some of its strengths. Starting with its SoC, a Helio G96 from MediaTek which offers it an 8-core processor (2.05 GHz) and a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. Like its big brother, it can also be configured with 6 or 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and between 64 and 128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage (expandable via SD card).

In the game of the seven differences, it will be necessary to look in particular on the side of the battery. With a capacity of 5,000 mAh, it is rechargeable “only” at 33 W (compared to 67 W for the Note 11 Pro). More notable: the AMOLED and Full HD + screen of the smartphone increases to 6.43 inches. It drops to 90Hz for display frequency and 180Hz for touch sampling. We therefore lose a little in reactivity, while maintaining beautiful contrasts.

In picture ? We can expect the same promises as the Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G. The model referenced 11S has a 108-megapixel wide-angle (1/1.52″; f/1.9; 2.1 µm pixels), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle (f/2, 2; FOV 118°) and a 2-megapixel depth/macro duo.At the front, the 16-megapixel sensor is also the same as on the other models.

Finally, the smartphone adopts the new design of the range with flatter edges. The set remains IP 53 certified against splashes and dust, and the screen will benefit from Gorilla Glass 3 (which is starting to seriously date). Two loudspeakers are included, as is the jack socket essential for audiophiles in the audience.

Redmi Note 11: the same in (a little) worse

Like its illustrious predecessor the Redmi Note 10, and despite a floor price, the Redmi Note 11 adopts a 6.43-inch AMOLED panel. Its originality, compared to last year’s model, is that it is now clocked at 90 Hz (180 Hz sampling) for a welcome surplus of fluidity.

The rest of the technical sheet is scrupulously identical to that of the Redmi Note 11S detailed above. Until we come to talk about the SoC and the photo, at least.

Here we go to a Qualcomm SoC. A Snapdragon 680, in this case. Engraved in 6 nm, it offers an 8-core CPU (2.4 GHz) and an Adreno 610 GPU. Without taking the smartphones in hand, it is difficult to know which of the two will do better in terms of performance. But the gap should in any case not be too pronounced.

Finally, in photos, the Redmi Note 11 will be less attractive than its big brother. The fault of a 50 megapixel main sensor, which the manufacturer did not deign to detail in its press release (which is rarely a good sign). It will be accompanied by an ultra wide-angle of 8 megapixels (f / 2.2, FOV 118 °) and the same duo macro / depth of 2 megapixels as usual. The front camera loses 3 megapixels to reach 13 megapixels (f / 2.4).

Jumble, the Redmi Note 11 also has two speakers and a jack.
