The results of Bouygues and Bic will punctuate the session, before AMD on Wall Street

After a busy end of July, several publications are still expected in France with the half-yearly from Bouygues and Bic. In the United States, operators will scrutinize quarterly papers from AMD, Starbucks and Uber.

For French companies, the half-year results season is not over although it is coming to an end. This Tuesday, investors will particularly follow the publication of Bouygues, before the opening of the Paris Stock Exchange. The construction and telecommunications group, which obtained the green light from Brussels to buy the multi-technical services company Equans, should follow the dynamics of the first quarter. Billings are expected to exceed 18 billion euros at the end of June, an increase of 5% over one year.

French operators will also go through the half-yearly accounts of bic, manufacturer of pens, lighters and razors. The opportunity to confirm whether the rise in its prices in the second quarter has made it possible to preserve its margins from a surge in costs, as at the start of the year. Among the other publications to follow in France are those of colas, Exclusive Networks and Sequans Communications.

AMD in the footsteps of Intel

Across the Atlantic, the market will focus on the quarterly results of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). The semiconductor manufacturer, whose publication had exceeded analysts’ expectations for the first three months of the year, could confirm, after the close of Wall Street, a gross margin target exceeding 50% for the year. A good omen, while its main competitor, Intelsaw its margin fall below 45% this quarter and sharply reduced its forecast for 2022. The market capitalization of AMD thus exceeded that of Intel, last Friday.

In line, Starbucks, Airbnb and Uber Technologies will unveil their quarterly accounts, as will Caterpillar, a component of the Dow Jones. In the UK, eyes will be on the oil company BP.
