The sequel to the brilliant Ninja Turtles: Teenage Years will arrive in 2026

If they came out of the sewers in 2023, the Turtle brothers will soon resurface for new adventures! The magazine Variety indeed reports that Paramount has added the sequel to Ninja Turtles: Teenage Years to its release schedule for October 2026 in the United States.

A successful rebirth

Michelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael and Donatello returned to the big screen last year in a new film which was a great success. Released in August 2023, Ninja Turtles: Teenage Years turned out to be a nice surprise, acclaimed by both the public and the critics.

Created in 1984 by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the Ninja Turtles made their comeback to the cinema (after having already been there seven times) in a film devoted this time to their teenage years.

Ninja Turtles: Teenage Years indeed follows the four Turtles as they decide to no longer isolate themselves from the world. To gain acceptance from humans, their plan is to pass for normal teenagers through heroic acts. But an army of mutants stands in the way of their goal.

Thanks to its explosive visual style (which recalls Spider-Man: New Generation) and a good dose of humor, the animated film collected more than 180 million dollars at the box office, for a budget of 70 million.

Following Ninja Turtles: Teenage Years will once again be directed by Jeff Rowe but we do not yet know if Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (who participated in the script of the first part) will return to write this second film.

While waiting to see Michelangelo, Leonardo, Raphael and Donatello devour more pizzas while walking the streets of New York in two years, the 2023 film can be found streaming on myCanal.

Note that an animated series (this time in 2D) is also on the program. Titled Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (in original version), it will be released on Paramount+ this summer.
