PARIS (Reuters) – The French maritime group CMA CGM announced on Friday that it was suspending its calls at the Lafito terminal, near Port-au-Prince, due to the worsening security situation in the vicinity of the Haitian capital.

Two weeks ago, the group had already decided to suspend its stopovers in Port-au-Prince to withdraw to the Lafito terminal located 20 km away.

“For the northern part of Haiti, CMA CGM will continue to make a stopover at Cap Haïtien as usual,” writes the shipowner in a notice to its customers.
