The sports day: Vettel in the bucking Ferrari only 14th, Mercedes again in front

Mercedes again determines the events for the qualification for the Formula 1 race in Silverstone. In the last training, Vice World Champion Valtteri Bottas secured the best time on Saturday in 1: 25.873 minutes. World champion Lewis Hamilton finished second behind the Finn, 0.138 seconds behind. The Brit is again the favorite in his home game on Sunday.

Sebastian Vettel in the Ferrari again had to complain about technical problems and had to settle for 14th in the dress rehearsal for qualifying (3 p.m. / RTL). As on Friday, there were problems with the pedals on Heppenheim's car. None of the three training courses on the high-speed course went without any problems for the Hesse, but Vettel also did not cope well with the changed external conditions. He left the racing line several times, struggled with the wind and ended up more than half a second slower than his teammate Charles Leclerc (Monaco) in sixth place.

Returnee Nico Hulkenberg did well again on the second day in the Racing Point car and was only just behind his teammate Lance Stroll. The 32-year-old from Emmerich finished ninth.
