The suicide of an RTE agent creates a stir within the group

Monday, October 17, Mathieu Poli, RTE agent, stationed in Saumur (Maine-et-Loire) ended his life. Contrary to information posted on social networks, the day after the tragedy, the man was not one of the four agents who were taken into custody on October 4 by the DGSI for damage to the network. According to RTE, this employee had however participated in the social mobilization for salary increases which was held in Angers last spring.

“As part of an investigation related to the cuts in Angers, we were informed that he had been heard by the police station, like a dozen other employees”we explain at RTE, which had filed a complaint against X, as the group does with each degradation of this type. “Internally, however, no disciplinary procedure has been decided against this employee”adds the company, specifying that the agent was never taken into custody.

In a press release published this Tuesday, October 18, the CGT indicates that Mathieu Poli “was the first to be summoned to the Angers police station on Wednesday September 7 following strike action on June 2” . He adds : “Like the other colleagues summoned, Mathieu had experienced this period of humiliation and then repression of all kinds very badly. »

Following his hearing on September 7, the agent who committed suicide had been arrested for a month. He had only returned to work last week. “It’s always complicated to decide on the reasons for a suicide, but today all RTE employees are flabbergasted. After the summons to the DGSI last week, where will it stop? », underlines Francis Casanova, CGT central delegate. To date, there is no legal action.
