The Canal Plus Rat+ offer with Netflix, Disney+… back
After yet another increase in Netflix and Disney+ prices, it is becoming very complicated to maintain all subscriptions. Because at the end of the month, the bill starts to get pretty steep. But if you can pay less, that’s another story. And a very, very good plan is now available again. Canal Plus’ RAT+ offer is back until January 23, 2024.
This is an XXL pack which brings together the main Canal+ channels, but above all the most popular SVOD platforms. Netflix, Disney+, Paramount+, Apple TV+ and OCS are included in the pack. Only Prime Video is therefore missing, but there is a new exclusive channel which we will talk about again. In addition to this, you also have access to magazines, audiobooks etc.
A very nice offer… but limited! Like the other times, it is in fact subject to two conditions: being under 26 years old and not having a current Canal subscription. “Reserved for people aged 18 to 25 who are not subscribed to a CANAL+ offer with monthly subscription”. The Rat+ is back again offer is valid at home and outside and can be used on PCs, mobiles, consoles, smart TVs and connected boxes (Apple TV, Android TV, Fire TV). This gives you access to your programs for two simultaneous screens, with 4K UHD compatibility which differs from one service to another.
This Rat+ is back again offer is at the same price as the last times: €19.49 per month without commitment. To the nearest two euros and a few cents, this is the price of the most expensive Netflix subscription. This shows to what extent the platforms have been very hands-on. Explanations of available SVOD offers and limitations
In addition to all the channels and services mentioned, the Rat+ promotion also offers access to Cafeyn. A platform that brings together more than 1,300 unlimited press titles (French and foreign). Lizzie allows you to listen to a selection of 200 audio books. Is there a trap? Not really per se, but there are limitations.
Firstly, the Netflix subscription included is the Standard. The one at €13.49 which is therefore compatible with 1080p resolution, downloading of content, viewing by up to 2 simultaneous users and no advertising. And it’s the same for Disney+. With the increase in prices, the formula offered is the “Standard” and not the “Premium”. What differences? Goodbye to 4K UHD HDR Dolby Atmos, films, series, docs or shows are displayed in 1080p 5.1. You can have up to 2 screens simultaneously and not 4. On the other hand, for Paramount+, OCS and Apple TV+, no restrictions. If programs are in 4K, you will be able to play them at this resolution at no extra cost.
What if you are already a subscriber?
The offer is therefore attractive, but what to do if you are a Netflix and/or Disney+ subscriber? You simply need to repatriate your accounts. Once this is done, SVOD services will no longer charge you.
If you are already a Netflix subscriber, it is entirely possible to subscribe to the Rat+ offer. After subscribing to the RAT+ offer, you will receive an email from CANAL+ inviting you to activate your Netflix account. All you need to do is enter your usual identifiers to transfer your subscription to the CANAL+ subscription and thus recover all your profiles and preferences. You will therefore no longer be billed by Netflix for the duration of your CANAL+ subscription.
