The Voice of Germany: Former candidates compete as All Stars

For the anniversary of "The Voice of Germany" there will be an innovation: Candidates from previous seasons will compete as All Stars.

In the new season of "The Voice of Germany" (from October 8th at 8:15 pm on Thursdays on ProSieben and Sundays on Sat.1), all stars will appear on the stage of the music show for the first time. On the occasion of the tenth anniversary, ProSiebenSat.1 brought together ten former candidates who will again face the assessment of the coaches, as the station group announced at a digital press conference on Monday (October 5).

"The same rules apply to everyone," said ProSieben broadcaster Daniel Rosemann. The former participants, whom the broadcaster announces as "the best of the best", take part in the blind auditions just like the new candidates and face the competition and the assessment of the coaches. "In the end they could of course also win," said Rosemann.

The first two all stars have been chosen

"I believe in second chances," said Pamela Falcon, who was featured as one of the All Stars. Falcon, who had to draw the short straw in the first season in a duet with colleague Percival on "Purple Rain" and could not be saved by another coach through the "steal deal", which was only introduced from season three, is looking forward to the "wonderful adventure" . For Alex Hartung it was "absolutely amazing" to be back at the show, said the second announced All Star, who caused a sensation in season four as the show's first rapper and his appearance at the blind auditions with Eminem's "Lose Yourself" "became a YouTube hit (over 33 million views). He only associates positive things with the show and wants to have just as much fun again as before.

The two are a good example of how all the All Stars were selected, said Rosemann. "There were auditions and battles that we could never forget and that we remembered." In addition, YouTube and the online platforms of the station group showed "what people loved and which candidates they are still attached to." Hartung can be seen in the second episode of the new season, Falcon in the opening episode.

In the anniversary season, Stefanie Kloß (35) and Yvonne Catterfeld (40) as well as Samu Haber (44) and Rea Garvey (47) will form a double chair for the first time. The individual coaches Mark Forster (37) and Nico Santos (27) also fight for the best talents. Ex-candidate Michael Schulte (30) will give retired candidates a second chance on the comeback stage. The anniversary season of "The Voice of Germany" can be seen from October 8th at 8:15 pm on Thursdays on ProSieben and from October 11th on Sundays on Sat.1.
