“The Voice of Germany” starts in the twelfth round. A coach has been involved in seven seasons of the music show.
“The Voice of Germany” will start the next round on August 18th. The twelfth season of the music show runs on Thursdays on ProSieben and on Fridays on Sat.1 and on Joyn (each at 8:15 p.m.). One of the four coaches this year is once again Rea Garvey (49). The Irish singer and guitarist sat in the very first season of the music show and has made it to a total of seven seasons to date. As a coach, he has already helped two candidates win. With Samu Haber (46) he even formed a coaching duo in the tenth season.
With Garvey, two more familiar faces are back as coaches: Stefanie Kloß (37) and Mark Forster (39). Kloß was seen in a total of four seasons. In the fourth season, the Silbermond singer formed a coaching team with Yvonne Catterfeld (42), after she had been there in seasons six, seven and eight. Forster has been with us since season seven in 2017. In all the years, however, no candidate from his team has managed to win. For Peter Maffay (72), on the other hand, everything is new. It’s his first appearance on the show.
perseverance of the coaches
“The Voice” started in 2011 with Nena (62), The BossHoss, Xavier Naidoo (50) and Rea Garvey as coaches. The “99 Luftballons” singer and the duo consisting of Alec Völkel (50) and Sascha Vollmer (50) remained for three more seasons. The duo Michi Beck (54) and Smudo (54) was also there from the fourth to the eighth season. During her time, two candidates from her team won.
Andreas Bourani (38) was part of the “The Voice of Germany” family for two seasons and also helped a candidate to win. Max Herre’s (49) team also produced a winner, although the rapper only took part in one season. Michael Patrick Kelly (44) has the same success: In his first and, for the time being, last season, a candidate from his team was able to convince. A year later, a participant from Alice Merton’s (28) group, who was only seen in one season, won. In the same season, Sido (41) was there as a coach.
Nico Santos (29) was seen as a comeback stage coach away from the big stage in 2019. As an online coach, an expert can put together his own team. This gives contestants eliminated from the show a second chance at victory. In 2020 and 2021 he was there as a regular coach. There the singer competed with the teams of Sarah Connor (42) and Johannes Oerding (40). Meanwhile, Michael Schulte (32) and later Elif (29) replaced him as comeback stage coaches in seasons 10 and 11.
