If the weather forecast announces an open sky, temperatures remain cool with some frosts throughout France.
The last weekend of January is sunny and cool, announces the Weather Channel*. For the past week, France has been crossed by a cold wave, supplemented by a few frosts and snowflakes. After a calm Saturday with negative temperatures, Sunday January 28 was sunny throughout the territory, with the exception of the North-West.
The anticyclone spreads a little more towards Germany and the snow showers are rare on the relief. The sun returns to the south of the Loire and the wind is less strong. However, the wind is still blowing strong in the Mediterranean. Freezing fog is quite frequent and may take time to dissipate in places. North of the Loire, the sky becomes very cloudy in the afternoon, with a few drops near the English Channel. The mercury barely exceeds 5°C at the best of the day. On the scale of France, Sunday is the coldest day of this week, located at -3°C below the average for the season.

Unlike the rest of France, the North-west will be covered by thick clouds all day. Along the Channel, temperatures are between 0°C and 6°C upon waking, approaching 10°C at the best of the day. It is thus 9°C in Cherbourg, 6°C in Rouen, 8°C in Brest.
To the East, the freezing fogs precede the arrival of the sun which then dominates the Sunday day. Temperatures remain cool, even negative in the heart of the Lorraine countryside. At daybreak, the mercury is -4°C in Chaumont, -3°C in Auxerre and Metz, -2°C in Bourges. Over the hours, temperatures rise slowly to reach 2°C in Belfort, 3°C in Chalon-sur-Saône.
South of the Loire, a few clouds come to disturb the beautiful clearings of this Sunday. Temperatures are cool in the morning, -4°C in Aurillac, -2°C in Bourges and Vichy, 0°C in Limoges and La Rochelle. In the middle of the afternoon, at the best of the day, the thermometer is between 3°C in Aurillac, 4°C in Lyon and Toulouse, 5°C in Limoges, Bordeaux and Montélimar.
On the Azure Coast, this end of January is mild. With magnificent sunshine all day, the mercury rises to 12°C in Marseille, 13°C in Ajaccio.
Monday will be rainy throughout the country, with the exception of the South and Nord-Pas-de-Calais.
