On December 17th, Netflix released the second season of the hit fantasy series “The Witcher”. A new trailer shortens the waiting time.

On December 17th, the long-awaited second season of “The Witcher” will be released on Netflix. In September, the makers confirmed a third season of the fantasy series around monster hunter Geralt von Rivia (Henry Cavill, 38). Fans of the series are now getting a taste of what’s going to happen in season two: The streaming service has one promising new trailer released.

In the almost three-minute clip, Geralt wanders through a devastated country. “The world has been acting strangely lately. The north and south are at war. Monsters wander around when they should actually be hibernating,” says the voice of Nivellen (Kristofer Hivju, 42). Meanwhile, scenes of war fields and monsters are faded in – “Monster” by Kanye West (44) is playing in the background.

Dark scenes paired with funny dialogues

“I survived three alleged end of the world. This is all nonsense,” Geralt jokes at Nivellen. While engaged in a sword fight with monsters, the witcher says, “Nobody will get peace until all monsters are gone from this world.” Yennefer (Anya Chalotra, 25), Fringella (Mimi Ndiwendi, 30), Dandelion (Joey Batey, 32) and Ciri (Freya Allan, 20) can also be seen in the teaser.

“After Geralt of Rivia is convinced that Yennefer did not survive the Battle of Sodden, he brings Princess Ciri to Kaer Morhen, the safest place he knows and which was his home in his childhood,” says the Netflix- Description of season two. There he tries to protect the princess “from the mysterious power that lies dormant in her”.
