What is acrylamide and why is it dangerous?

It was in 1994 that this substance was recognized as being carcinogenic for both animals and humans by the IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer). Acrylamide is generally formed during cooking when certain foods richer in starch are cooked at high temperatures (over 120°). Therefore, potatoes consumed in the form of fries or even chips are particularly subject to this substance.

The Rappel Conso website advises you to no longer consume these products and to return them to the point of sale so that they can be destroyed and you will be reimbursed. The recall procedure ends on November 13, 2023.
