They can be a great relief in hectic everyday life: ready-made broths. Perfect for soups, sauces and co. But you should be careful with these four Maggi products at the moment – they could contain glass splinters.

Anyone who has had ready-made Maggi broths in their shopping basket in the past three weeks should take a closer look at the glasses. Because Maggi is currently recalling some of its vegetable and meat broths. The reason: pieces of glass found in some glasses. The affected broths should no longer be processed and consumed.

You shouldn’t eat these Maggi broths anymore

  • Vegetable broth glass 119g (batch number: 31110702, 31120702, 31140702)
  • Clear broth jar 101g (batch number: 31030702)
  • Chicken broth jar 92g (batch number: 31150702)
  • Broth with beef glass 108g (batch number: 31030702, 31040702, 31050702)

The broths have been on sale since April 19, 2023. This applies to almost all states. The company said it could not be ruled out that glass components got into the product from the packaging.

The purchased products can also be returned without a receipt

The purchased products of the affected lots can be returned where they were purchased. The purchase price will be refunded even if the receipt is not presented.

If they have any questions about returns, consumers can also contact Maggi’s consumer service directly. The employees can be reached on 0049 (0) 69 6671-2841 from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We strongly advise against consumption, as there is a high risk of injury. Broken glass can cause injuries to the mouth and throat if swallowed. Furthermore, the esophagus and the adjacent trachea can be damaged. The stomach and intestines are extremely sensitive and can be severely injured by pointed and sharp objects. Ideally, swallowed objects leave the body naturally without causing any problems. In the worst case, glass splinters could also get stuck and block the airways, for example.
