These two very popular ready-to-wear brands in France are dropping their prices by 30% (a good deal to grab)

In order to boost their sales, the Comptoir des Cotonniers and Princesse Tam Tam boutiques have decided to focus on a “price reduction” operation. Here are the details of the good plan not to be missed.

While many sectors are struggling to remain prosperous, we learn that the lingerie market is one of those that is most negatively impacted. According to the French Fashion Institute, sales of women’s ready-to-wear fell by 1.5% in 2023 and those of lingerie fell by 3.8%. Unfortunately, the figures do not rise again in 2024 since we have already observed a drop of 2.2% in the first quarter of the year for underwear.

To compensate for this dramatic decrease, some brands have decided to take measures. This is the case of the Japanese group Fast Retailing, which owns, among other things, Uniqlo, Comptoir des Cotonniers and Princesse Tam Tam who is banking today on a strategy aimed at lowering the price to attract customers and boost sales.

Comptoir des Cotonniers and Princesse Tam Tam: 30% reductions not to be missed

The last two years having been deadly for the clothing and footwear sector, many major brands such as Ted Baker, San Marina and Camaïeu have announced store closures or receiverships. The Fast Retailing group had for its part announced the launch of a restructuring plan providing for the closure of 55 Comptoir des Cotonniers and Princesse Tam Tam stores in France and therefore the dismissal of more than 300 people.

To boost sales after this restructuring, the group is now banking on an attractive offer. The group’s president, Yoshihiro Kunii, announced to the specialized media FasthionNetwork on April 4, an overall price reduction on all products of around 30%. Great reductions which will mean that at Comptoir des Cotonniers, a large part of the pieces will now be sold for less than 100 euros, apart from the more expensive coats, the prices of which should not exceed 200 euros. A good plan for fans of the brand and for fashionistas looking for good deals.

We specify in fact that these reductions will not be equivalent to a sales period but rather a new permanently reduced offer. Enough to raise questions about the brand’s possible manufacturing methods to meet its new prices. The group seems to want to focus on a new production line similar to that of the giant Uniqlo and attract a new, younger clientele. To do this, it is therefore necessary to sell less expensively and hope to sell more quantities.
