A user of the platform Reddit has just told the story of a friend named Jack who was invited to a couple’s wedding via an email invitation, containing specific instructions as well as a link to make a payment.

The invitation included a request for payment to attend the festivities. And we are not talking about a small symbolic participation but an astronomical sum already defined: 2400 dollars, or 2000 euros. After paying this crazy amount, the young man still had to pay an additional 37 dollars, or 30€, for drinks that were not included in the initial price.
The newlywed couple treated themselves to the wedding of their dreams by splitting all the costs between the guests and bet everything on the setting by renting a “ridiculously expensive” venue, according to Jack. Of course, many guests were shocked by this request and made the choice not to attend the wedding despite their friendship. “I don’t care who the bride and groom are to me. You want a specific type of wedding, pay for it yourself!” declared a guest who declined the invitation in the platform’s forum Reddit.
