Men burn Koran in front of Parliament in Sweden

The men have often attracted attention with Islamophobic actions: Now they trample the Koran in front of the Swedish parliament and then set it on fire. The country’s government is concerned about public safety.
Another edition of the Koran has been burned in front of the Swedish parliament. The Swedish news agency TT reported that two men first trampled on the Muslim Holy Scriptures and then set them on fire. They also kicked pictures of Muslim leaders.
The men had already been noticed more often with Islamophobic actions. A good ten days ago, they set fire to a copy of the Koran in front of the Iraqi embassy in Stockholm, prompting violent protests in several Muslim countries. In Iraq, a mob stormed the Swedish embassy. The government expelled the Swedish ambassador from the country.
TT reported that the men had no visible supporters during the action on Monday. About 15 counter-demonstrators protested against the actions.
Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson had previously announced that he was in close contact with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen about the Koran burning. Their government had announced that they were looking for ways to legally prevent such Islamophobic acts out of concern for public safety.
