James Bond, Prince Charles and now also the “Sherlock” nemesis Moriarty: The cast of “Knives Out 3” is getting more and more exciting.

The cast in the two previous “Knives Out” installments has been almost as exciting as the cases themselves. Daniel Craig (56) as private detective Benoit Blanc found himself surrounded by a star-studded ensemble cast in both “Knives Out – Murder is a Family Affair” and the sequel “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery”. This will also be the case in the third installment, as the US industry website “Variety” reports.

Kerry Washington (47) and Andrew Scott (47) are also joining the cast for part three, which will be called “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery”. Washington starred in Quentin Tarantino’s (61) western “Django Unchained” and was part of the successful series “Scandal”, which ran from 2012 to 2018.

Meanwhile, Scott managed to make iconic appearances in two series. As the villain and mastermind Professor Moriarty, he annoyed “Sherlock” aka Benedict Cumberbatch (47). And as the “Sexy Priest” he turned the head of “Fleabag” creator and lead actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge (38).

Probably not the end yet

Shortly before the reports about Kerry Washington and Andrew Scott, two other names were announced. The two rising stars Josh O’Connor (34) and Cailee Spaeny (25) are also among the illustrious circle of suspects. Josh O’Connor made a name for himself primarily with “The Crown”. In the third and fourth seasons of the Netflix hit series, he played the young Prince Charles. Spaeny recently played Elvis Presley’s wife in “Priscilla”, for which she won the award for best actress at the Venice Film Festival.

If “Knives Out” creator Rian Johnson (50) follows his example from his previous films, the star cast is likely to grow to at least double. The only constant in both films was Daniel Craig as the eccentric master detective Benoit Blanc – high-ranking Hollywood stars were found in almost every other role.

Johnson and co. still have some time before the final cast for “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery” has to be finalized. An exact date for the Netflix production has not yet been set, but it is expected to be in 2025.
