It should (normally) be marketed in 2023, Tesla’s Cybertruck will appeal to fans of outdoor adventure.
To transform the Cybertruck into a camping van, however, it will be necessary to opt for the system developed by Space Camper.
The Tesla Cybertruck also for camping fans
Formalized in 2019, Tesla’s Cybertruck now has more than 1.5 million pre-orders according to the latest figures announced by the manufacturer. The production of this highly anticipated Tesla Cybertruck will be entrusted to the Austin Gigafactory, and the vehicle should hit the roads in 2023.
We will also have to wait a little longer to discover the final technical specifications of the pick-up. Recently, Elon Musk suggested that the Cybertruck would be compatible with V4 Superchargers, to reach a charging power of 1 MW (or 1,000 kW). In the meantime, adventurers can already prepare to travel in the middle of nature aboard this Tesla Cybertruck.
A dedicated system… at $24,000
Indeed, the company Space Campers, specializing in camping facilities, has unveiled its brand new creation, dedicated to the American electric pick-up. This is a compartment that is added to the back of the Cybertruck, which includes a double bed, a kitchen area, not to mention a small lounge area.
An “extension” for the less complete therefore, but which however requires to pay the tidy sum of 24,000 dollars. At this price, we will therefore benefit from a semi-rigid tent placed on the contours of the Cybertruck dumpster which, once deployed, offers 2.4 m of ceiling height.
All the equipment (kitchen area, water heater, lighting, etc.) is plugged directly into the Cybertruck battery. The kit offered by Space Camper is also adorned with a solar roof (sold as an option) in order to minimize the impact on the vehicle’s battery.
