This Big Bang Theory star called for a change and later regretted it

Find out which singer of “The Big Bang Theory” regularly asked for her character to undergo a transformation… before regretting it.

The Big Bang Theory has been over for 4 years now, but the actors haven’t finished talking about their characters, who have left a lasting impression on viewers.

That of Amy, doctor in neuroscience and partner of Sheldon, has long been presented as having a very classic style of dress, a little dated and not necessarily highlighting it. His interpreter Mayim Bialik has long asked the screenwriters to change that. She was nervous at the idea that Amy could change her appearance, as she had confided to The Insider in 2017:

“For years it was the only thing I asked for, and nobody seemed to care, but I’m going to keep talking about it in interviews: they never did an ugly duckling episode where Amy has her hair and make-up completely done.”

Five years later, however, she notes in the book dedicated to the series, The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series (released October 2022), that she wasn’t thrilled when the day for this makeover finally came:

We hadn’t gone crazy making her dress in a way that wouldn’t look like her…but that was something I disagreed with. I thought we would [un épisode] : ‘Let’s dress Amy and take her out for the night!’ I didn’t think this would become her new look.

This makeover eventually became Amy Farrah Fowler’s character’s definitive appearance until the end of the series. A choice that his interpreter regrets.

The series nonetheless remains one of the biggest hits in television history, airing from 2007 to 2019. If you like Mayim Bialik, she currently stars in the comedy Call Me Kat, the story of a woman who decides to open a cat bar to avoid having to get married.
