It’s official : Secret Story returns to our screens soon! The production announced the thing on the TF1 Instagram account but also by making announcements in the Parisian metros. The launch of the program will take place on April 23 at 11:30 p.m., just after the broadcast of Koh Lanta on TF1. The dailies will then be broadcast Monday to Saturday between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on TF1. Each week, a candidate will be eliminated at the end of the Friday show. In addition to all this, true fans will also be able to watch the live on TF1 + premium which will be broadcast for two hours in the morning then for another two hours in the evening after 8 p.m.

This is a brand new version of the game that viewers will be able to witness. Indeed, before the reality TV side was quite highlighted, but now, the production prefers to put the game in the foreground. In this sense, there will be a large games room of 200m2 schooled at the house of secrets and the whole week will be structured around play times for the candidates. The goal always remains the same: find as many secrets as possible while hiding your own and not being eliminated from the adventure!

Each week, a candidate will be eliminated on Friday at 6:30 p.m. He will then be invited to the debrief broadcast on TF1 + where he will meet the presenter Christophe Beaugrand and one or more candidates already released. In previous seasons of Secret Stories broadcast on TF1 between 2007 and 2014 with Benjamin Castaldi then on NT1 between 2015 and 2017, we saw the outgoing candidate enter a box then arrive on the set. But, that wasn’t really what was happening in reality. At its outputthe eliminated candidate went through a very long corridor where he could meet people and chat before arriving on set.

For this 12th season of the program which returns 7 years later, the production has decided to change things. The stage will actually be right next to the house of secrets, so that the eliminated candidate does not see anyone before arriving in front of Christophe Beaugrand and the public. It will thus simply pass through an airlock which will connect the villa and the TV set. Thus, he will be directly propelled on stage after having been locked up for several days, weeks or months. For the candidates, it is a special moment because when they are in the house of secrets, they are not aware of their notoriety.

Secret Story season 12 more focused on gaming

If TF1 and Endemol decided to relaunch Secret Story, it’s because they realized that games are currently particularly popular with viewers. So, this new season will be very focused on the game. Candidates will have to investigate to find the secrets and will have to compete in games organized by the Voice in a dedicated area.

There will also be a real investigation game for the candidates but also for viewers who will be able to play at the same time. “It’s a live program that allows great interactivity with viewers”, thus clarified the production during the press conference.
