Palette.fm can colorize black and white photos automatically and without graphic design skills.

Palette.fm is one of the newcomers to innovative tools based on artificial intelligence. Free, the website allows Internet users to import their black and white photos and color them in a few seconds.

Colorize old black and white photos

Rather promising, the tool in question works entirely online and requires no knowledge of graphics. As explained by its creator, Emil Wallner, Palette.fm uses deep learning technology to identify the content of the photo downloaded by the Internet user. The service is reminiscent of the art creation tool Midjourney which also works thanks to AI. Like him, Palette.fm uses text input to make changes to the result. By describing in English what the image contains, it is possible to control the AI and obtain the desired colorimetric rendering.

The service is currently free, although Wallner already has ideas in mind for setting up paid subscriptions to monetize the availability of this technology.

The creator of the site wants to be clear on the subject of the treatment of photos. These are not stored on the servers. Nevertheless, it seems relevant to specify that, as with all services of this type, it is generally recommended not to transfer photos that are too personal.
