As our colleagues at Boxoffice Pro“this is the first time that a concert has topped the box office two weekends in a row, ahead of all the films showing.” Which therefore allows Taylor Swift to achieve one more record.
For the record, last week’s record start instantly propelled this recording to first place in the genre ranking: The Eras Tour is already the most lucrative filmed concert of all time in the United States, ahead of Justin Bieber: Never Say Never who collected 73 million greenbacks in 2011… over his entire career.
Taylor Swift The Eras Tour and Killers Of The Flower Moon have in common that they are both long formats (2h48 for the first, and 3h26 for Scorsese). Killers Of The Flower Moon is off to a very good start, particularly given this parameter, which inevitably reduces the number of screenings per theater. A higher score than The Wolf of Wall Street, but nevertheless lower than Shutter Island.
Few surprises in the rest of the ranking, except the return of The strange Christmas of Mr. Jack, in theaters on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of its release. The film is 5th. For the rest, the ranking is similar to that of last weekend.
