this is confirmed for the long-awaited announcement

Dragon Ball Z Tenkaichi 4 could well give news of him in a short time, and this time, there is almost no room for doubt. It smells good.

About eight months ago, an announcement ignited the community: Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is in development. After 16 years of absence, the franchise is officially back. Since its revelation, which was accompanied by a little teaser of less than a minute, it has been dead calm. The game hardly gives any news about him anymore. Fortunately, that will visibly change soon, at least if we are to believe the big clue unearthed by the players.

An announcement for Dragon Ball Z Tenkaichi 4 in early 2024?

At present, there have been no gameplay images revealed for the title published by Bandai Namco. For its part, the release date remains a mystery, like the platforms targeted. But then, when are we going to know more? First of all, you should know that Budokai Tenkaichi 4 was revealed during a very specific event, the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2023. The latter will have a 2024 edition which has just published its announcement trailer. And it is in this trailer that a very particular detail was spotted.

Indeed, towards the end of the trailer, we mention a “ panel for a special Dragon Ball “. We then see a montage of images, and on the left, a screenshot of Budokai Tenkaichi 1. Seen like that, it’s a little strange, but in truth, we could find it in the first teaser of Budokai Tenkaichi 4 shown several months ago. So, for some people, that leaves no room for doubt: the new opus will be presented during the convention dedicated to the famous franchise. As a reminder, it will be held from January 27 to 28, 2024 in Los Angeles.

A complete reboot?

A rumor has been circulating for quite some time about Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4. It would be a complete reboot of the saga, and not a brand new iteration. If this hypothesis is put forward, it is because the studio registered the name “Sparking! Zero” in the United States. This is the term used for the Japanese versions of the games. The use of the word “Zero” in place of a 4 did not hesitate to raise a few eyebrows, but it does not stop there.

We could also see the following words: “ Get ready for battle, a new sparking begins ». What does Bandai Namco mean by “New”? The option of a reboot was therefore considered, which would involve a less well-stocked roster than in Dragon Ball Budokai Tenkaichi 3. A handful of players did not appreciate the idea, but others did not hesitate to justify a such decision. “Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4 will never have the same amount of content as Budokai 3, because it can’t reuse assets like previous episodes do”, we could read in particular. This is a good argument and we hope to discover more during the famous event in January 2024.
