Combining suspensions, complete equipment, central engine and Enviolo transmission, the Tenways Ago T has a very attractive price on the electric bike market.
Among the brands attempting an offensive in France, Tenways has stood out for several months. Yet born in 2021 only, the Hong Kong firm multiplies the novelties with in particular the Tenways Ago T which we could see at a show, its more upscale urban VAE, but with an affordable price as the manufacturer has just announced.
Big torque, a belt and an Enviolo for versatility
Because at 2,699 euros, it’s a hell of a deal. The VAE has a central motor, the best positioning for natural pedaling. The block is the Bafang M420 at 80 Nm of maximum torque. To have ridden with this one before, it’s not the most spirited of the range, but it’s versatile enough for everyday life, with 5 levels of assistance.
And to deploy the energy, it’s the superb Enviolo system with gearshift lever on the handlebars, allowing a nice range depending on the elevation or your pace, and even when stationary. And it’s a belt that transmits it all, an expensive choice for this AGO T, but more durable, quiet, clean and with minimal maintenance. For comparison, the Reine Bike has the same engine and transmission, but at 3,799 euros (excluding promotion). But it is also the price of made in France, where the Tenways comes from Asia.
A comfortable electric bike
On the cycle part, the open frame of the Tenways AGO T is practical, directly integrating the lighting, the rear luggage rack, and equipped with mudguards as standard. Be careful however, these and the crutch seem to be an “exclusive offer” free for the moment, and possibly payable at 168 euros in the future.
On the comfort side, the suspension fork and the CST balloon tires will filter all the roads and allow off-roading, while the high and curved handlebars with the padded saddle will guarantee a perfect position.
To control the electric assistance, the Tenways AGO T incorporates a Bafang screen with a modern car cockpit display, containing several driving information in addition to the traditional speed or mileage: calories, cadence, duration, remaining autonomy, etc.
With all this, the small downside is the total weight of the bike, 31 kg, with the integrated battery. The latter is however removable, with 504 Wh of capacity, or 50 to 100 km of autonomy depending on the level of assistance and your environment.
The price of the Tenways AGO T
The Tenways AGO T has therefore been on the market since this week, at a price of 2,699 euros, but with a reduction of 100 euros for the first 100 customers. It is possible to choose from three colors – green, white or black – but only one size is possible. The electric bike would however be compatible for sizes from 1.60 to 1.95 m depending on the brand.
