Revolut is enriching its destination offering for travelers. Nobank customers can now purchase mobile data plans valid in over 100 countries and use them immediately. Explanations.
Open a foreign currency account in seconds and exchange money with almost no fees: it is thanks to this initial promise that many have come to open an account with Revolut. Since then, the British bank has continued to pamper this clientele of travelers by offering them dedicated insurance, an accommodation reservation service and, from now on, a new undisclosed service in France for a bank: eSIM.
What is it about? Quite simply with a dematerialized SIM card which can be installed in a few clicks from the Revolut application, provided you have a compatible phone: iPhone 11, Samsung S20, Google Pixel 3 or more recent models (1)…
Data in more than 100 countries
Once this eSIM is installed, Revolut customers, including those who are satisfied with the free Standard plan, can purchase, always in the application and in a few clicks, mobile data plans – in plain English, data – usable in more than 100 countries (2). Objective: avoid unexpected roaming charges.
The international package, valid everywhere, is invoiced between 8 (for 1 GB) and 62.50 (for 20 GB). You can also subscribe to packages regional – from 6 to 50.50, for example, for a package covering the United States, Canada and Mexico – or local, on a country scale. Let us recall, in passing, that many mobile plans sold in France already have a data envelope valid in the countries of the European Union.
100 MB of data for testing
Another advantage: those who have installed the eSIM, Revolut allows them touse their mobile application without tapping into their mobile data quota. So, if a Revolut customer arrives in a foreign country in which they do not have internet access, they can still access their Revolut application and use all products and features, including reloading their data, details a press release published by the nobank.
By installing this new eSIM before May 1, 2024, you can benefit from a trial offer: 100 MB of data at no cost, usable within 7 days. Subscribers to the Ultra plan (45 per month) have access, every month and at no extra cost, to a 3 GB international plan.
