You will be able to pre-order in a few days the OneXPlayer 2, a portable console armed with a mobile Raptor Lake processor… unknown.

If you can’t find what you’re looking for among the current range of portable consoles, now quite diversified both in terms of specifications and prices with proposals as varied as the Steam Deck or the AYANEO 2, a newcomer may be able to find through your eyes: the OneXPlayer 2.

8.4-inch screen and detachable game pads

The company formalized this console through a tweet and a YouTube video. It will be marketed from 2023, but pre-orders will open in a few days, from November 25.

Contrary to what its designation may suggest, the OneXPlayer 2 is not an update of a previous OneXplayer. The eponymous brand offers many other portable consoles: OneXPlayer Mini and Mini Pro, logically smaller.

These Mini versions have dimensions of 26 x 10.6 x 2.3 cm and have a 7-inch IPS screen offering a maximum definition of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. Less compact, the OneXPlayer 2 measures 31 x 12.7 x 2.25 cm and inherits an 8.4-inch screen displaying a maximum definition of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels.

In addition, like the Switch, this console offers detachable game pads. It runs on Windows 11.

A Ryzen or Core processor

The other differences lie in the bowels of the console. Either way, OneXPlayer offers both AMD and Intel versions. The OneXPlayer 2 Intel will however be the only one to ship a Core 13e generation, Raptor Lake. The Raptor Lake mobile range is still not official, so the exact chip part numbers are not known. Nevertheless, it is probably the Core i7-1360P. Note that the OneXPlayer Mini and Mini Pro respectively embed Core 11e and 12e generations (Tiger Lake and Alder Lake).

As for AMD editions, the OneXPlayer 2 adopts, like the Mini Pro, a Ryzen 7 6800U, a processor under Zen 3+ CPU architecture with 12 RDNA 2 graphics cores.

The processors, both Intel and AMD, are supported by LPDDR5X-6400 memory. Regarding the battery, the capacity is 17,100 mAH. Finally, in terms of connectivity, the machine offers Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.

Our colleagues from VideoCardz compare the features of the OneXPlayer consoles to those of the Steam Deck in the table below. As you can see, for the prices, the Valve machine does not box in the same category. The price of the OneXPlayer 2 has not been communicated, but in view of those practiced for the Mini, the amount should greatly exceed 1,000 dollars.
