This Sunday on TV: the film that (almost) made people forget La Boum

Every day, AlloCiné recommends a film to (re)watch on TV. This Sunday: the reunion of Sophie Marceau and director Claude Pinoteau…

Ranked among the biggest successes of the French box office in 1980, La Boum marks the first professional meeting between Sophie Marceau, then aged 14, a real revelation of the film, and the director Claude Pinoteau. The two artists then met again in 1982 for La Boum 2, then in 1988 for The student.

Leaving the world of high school for that of college, this generational sentimental comedy, deeply modern and moving, brings together Sophie Marceau and Vincent Lindon. But despite the hopes formulated by Gaumont, the film did not meet with the same success in dark rooms. The student is satisfied with 1.58 million admissions, far from the 4.38 and 4.07 million of La Boum 1 and 2.

Claude Pinoteau’s student with Sophie Marceau, Vincent Lindon, Elisabeth Vitali…

Tonight on TFX at 9:05 p.m.
