Swedish automaker Polestar has officially launched its first smartphone, an artificial intelligence-centric flagship device that directly targets the high-end Android market.
That’s it, Tesla’s competitor, Polestar, has just launched its own smartphone. Simply named “Polestar Phone”, the new phone aims to bringing the brand’s design language and intelligent vehicle integration to the mobile space.
However, when you look closer, the Polestar Phone is more of a rebranded version of the recently released Meizu 21 Pro, packed with premium features including Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform.

Polestar launches its own high-end smartphone
Among the device’s key technical features are a triple rear camera (50 MP wide-angle, 13 MP ultra-wide-angle, 10 MP telephoto), a huge 5,050 mAh battery with 80W wired charging and 50W wireless chargingand one 6.72-inch BOE LTPO AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate.
Polestar aims to differentiate itself through the phone’s personalized Android software experience, dubbed “Polestar Phone OS”. Although visually similar to Meizu’s FlymeOS skin, the automaker’s version doubles the smart features powered by advanced AI and machine learning models.
Examples include AI-assisted photo enhancement, text summarization, on-device image generation capabilities, and intuitive voice commands, all tuned to provide a seamless bridge with entertainment systems. in-car infotainment from Polestar.
Users can also check the battery status of their electric vehicle, remotely start climate controls and even use the phone as a voice-activated virtual assistant while behind the wheel. all thanks to the “Link” connectivity functions of Polestar Phone OS.
Of course, it won’t be easy to break into the highly competitive smartphone market against giants like Apple and Samsung, even with the Polestar brand cachet. The relatively limited availability of the phone (for the moment only in China) and its fairly high starting price of 7,388 yuan (953 euros), could well deter many customers.
