BARGAIN

Looking for a stylish e-bike for the city? Aldi is offering a stylish belt-driven Pedelec from Sachsenrad from April 28th. The price is really good.

Single-speed bikes – i.e. bikes without gears – are particularly popular in the city. Due to the lack of gears, the bikes require significantly less maintenance and still get you reliably from A to B. There are also many single-speed bikes in the e-bike sector, for example the Cowboy C4. Thanks to the built-in torque sensor, the motor adapts its performance to your pedaling force and thus ensures a natural driving experience.

Such an e-bike will be available in Aldi’s online shop from April 28th. The Pedelec comes from the well-known German manufacturer Sachsenrad from Leipzig. The Roma C3F is available with a bar and with a low entry. It offers 28-inch tires and a frame height of 48 centimeters.

The motor on this e-bike is located in the rear wheel. It offers a support force of 45 Newton meters, which also offers sufficient power for mountainous regions – as long as the climbs are not extremely steep.

100 kilometers in ECO mode

The battery disappears into the frame, Aldi does not provide any information about the capacity. However, a range of up to 100 kilometers should be possible in ECO mode. Instead of a chain, Sachsenrad uses a belt. The main advantage for you is that it requires less maintenance.

Further equipment includes hydraulic disc brakes, a trekking saddle, mudguards, luggage rack, lighting system and an alarm system with radio remote control. The weight is just under 16 kilograms, the permissible total weight is 138 kilograms.

At a price of 1,299 euros, the overall package is impressive. It is particularly suitable for short distances – whether in the city or in the country. If you are planning long tours, an e-bike with gears would be the better choice.

The e-bike is currently sold exclusively at Aldi; other retailers no longer have it in their range. The offer is really good, because some time ago the competition was charging 1,699 euros and more for the bike.
