Thomson Gaming has just presented a range of Laptop PCs for gamers which is made up of three models with different characteristics but with one thing in common which is to offer high-end equipment. There is therefore the Thomson Roxxor G17, the Thomson Roxxor G16 and the Thomson Roxxor G16S whose characteristics we will detail in the following.
- Thomson Roxxor G17: the spearhead of the brand!
The Roxxor G17 is the flagship of this new range and it aims to satisfy the most demanding gamers by incorporating the most efficient components of the moment. On the processor side, there is the choice between an Intel Core i7-13700HX or an Intel Core i9-13900HX while for the graphics card, we always remain at the top of the basket with the choice between an Nvidia RTX 4080 or 4090 equipped respectively with 12 and 16 GB of DDR6 memory with a TGP of 175 Watts max. On the memory side (RAM) it will be 32 GB of DDR5 at 4800 or 5600Hz and for storage, it will be an ultra fast 1TB M2 SSD. The eyes will also get their money’s worth with a 17.3-inch QHD+ screen at 240 hertz. finally, the wireless connections are up to par with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. This racing beast has nice dimensions (39.5 x 27.8 x 2.49 cm) and a weight, all in all, very reasonable in view of its power of 3.29 kg. The price varies depending on the configuration chosen between 2,999 and 3,699 euros including tax.
- Roxxor G16: high-end with a smaller screen.
Smaller, the G16 is much thinner (35.9 x 27.3 x 1.99 cm) and only weighs 2.7 kg on the scale. It is equipped with an Intel Core i9-13900HX processor, an NVidia RTX 4070 graphics card with 8 GB of DDR6 with a max TGP of 140 W, 32 GB of DDR5 memory at 4800 Hz and an M2 SSD of 1 TB. To accompany all this, it is equipped with a 16-inch QHD+ screen at 240 Hz. The adoption of a cooling system equipped with a vapor chamber and two oversized fans allows this PC to absorb a heat flow of 185 W. Its price is 2299 euros.
- Roxxor G16S: a lighter, more affordable PC.
With this model, Thomson offers a compact PC that is even lighter than the previous ones (2.45 kg) and more modular in order to adapt to a wider range of budgets. The high-end model is equipped with an Intel Core i7-13700HX processor, an NVIDIA RTX 4070 graphics card, 32 GB of memory and a 1 TB M2 SSD. The screen has a 16-inch panel in QHD+ with a refresh rate of 165 Hz. For less expensive alternatives, it is possible to opt for an Intel Core i5-13500HX processor and an NVIDIA RTX 4050 or 4060 graphics card. The base price of this PC is 1499 euros.
With this range of gaming laptops, Thomson comes to play in the big leagues with prices that are within the average range of the competition’s equivalents.e. by clearly positioning itself in the high-end segment, the brand aims to make an impression in trying to find a place among the market leaders such as Aus ROG, Lenovo Legion, MSI, ACER and even RAZER.
