TikToker Firat Elvito and his wife Begüm got married — and despite the special day, they obviously don’t care about dress codes. For the civil wedding, you wear a hoodie and jogging suit.

There is no more relaxed approach to the topic of weddings! At first glance, one might think that TikTok star Firat Elvito, 22, and his girlfriend Begüm just went to the kiosk. But no – the latest post from the Cottbuser is actually a photo of his own wedding. On Instagram, the TikToker, who delights his 3.3 million fans with funny videos from his everyday life, gives a little insight into the celebrations. However, there is nothing to be seen of a white dress and a romantic wedding. Instead, the bridal couple poses in a black and white set of sweatpants and a matching hoodie at the registry office.

Controversial wedding: TikToker Firat Elvito marries in sweatpants

This look is definitely different than most bridal couples are used to. Firat Elvito and his wife step down the aisle in a black-and-white matching look consisting of a hoodie and sweatpants. While she makes the “quarantine” look, a nod to love in the corona lockdown, a little more festive with a small crown and white veil, he has a large watch on his wrist for a typical accessory. The two forego other festive elements in their wedding outfits.

Cool or inappropriate? Instagram fans are divided

The attention of the Instagram community is quickly secured for the two. Cool or inappropriate? In the social networks, users disagree. “Never seen before, with a jogger to the registry office,” comments a fan on Instagram and apparently takes the unusual wedding look with humor. For others, however, the outfit seems to meet with less approval, because comments like “Sorry, but that doesn’t work in sports clothes” and “mega inappropriate” are collected under the Instagram picture. The groom himself doesn’t understand the fuss surrounding his look and proclaims on TikTok: “I don’t know why everyone hated it. But we love it”.

After a controversial wedding, the TikTok star wears a tuxedo

The big party followed the next day – and after jogging and a subsequent banquet at McDonald’s, it turned out to be quite classic. The TikTok couple is really stepping on the gas and so the man from Cottbus wears an elegant black suit with a white shirt and a black bow tie for the second wedding round. His newly wedded bride chooses a white wedding dress embroidered with pearls for her wedding, which she complements with a huge tiara with a red veil. The TikToker seems at least as proud of the chic part of the wedding and announces: “Your dress is longer than the car” and “I’m wearing a suit.”
