Til Schweiger (56, "The Wedding") will be in the drama "God, you can be an ass!" next to Heike Makatsch (49). The two play parents who are worried about their seriously ill daughter. In an interview with the "Grazia", the two have now revealed their relationship to faith.
"I don't believe in any god," explains Schweiger. "I don't believe in a God who decides to inflict good on one and bad on the other," says Makatsch. On the other hand, she believes that it is not the short period of time that people walk around the globe that is decisive, but that there are even larger cycles. "I do believe that there is such a thing as energies. And the idea that life here on earth is not everything is a nice idea," adds Schweiger. Especially because he has already lost some people and he feels that they and their energy are still there.
Schweiger also explains with a laugh that he is currently working on becoming spiritual and believing. "I don't know whether I'll succeed." He often thinks that a lot would be easier if he believed in something higher and if he were established in his belief. "If you lose someone and believe that they are on another level and are happy there, then you can deal with such blows of fate more easily." Dying and the thought of one's own death are also much easier to bear. "In this respect I see something positive in faith."
