Til Schweiger lost his mother at the beginning of the year. You can never process that, he said “Bild am Sonntag”.

Til Schweiger (57) lost his mother at the beginning of the year: “You can never deal with that,” he said “Bild am Sonntag”. And he added: “For my mother it was certainly better that way. For my dad it is of course bad that she is no longer there. I asked him about it recently. He said there are of course better moments, but the grief is always there. “

Schweiger’s new film “Kurt” is also about grief and loss. He dedicated it to “the parents of Marvin, the ex-boyfriend of my daughter Luna”. “Marvin died in a car accident last year,” explains Schweiger in the interview. “Kurt” will “definitely be my most intense film,” said the actor and director. In the editing room he has “shed so many tears, even though I know the film inside and out. I actually cry every day”.

Emotional story

“Kurt” is the film adaptation of the novel of the same name by Sarah Kuttner (42). The story is about a blended family who loses a child. Schweiger is the director and leading actor of the film and wrote the script with Vanessa Walder (43). Kuttner himself was already enthusiastic last year. She wrote about the script on Instagram: “* fans himself excitedly and crushes 2-12 tears while reading * @tilschweiger #kurt”.
