Today, he is one of the most famous actors of his generation! Did you recognize this little boy in the series New York, Judicial Police?

Currently starring in “Dune: Second Part”, Timothée Chalamet took his first steps as an actor 15 years ago today, in an episode of the police series “New York, Judicial Police”.

Only 28 years old, Timothée Chalamet is undoubtedly one of the most recognized actors of his generation. Already nominated for an Oscar twice for his roles in the dramas Call Me By Your Name and My Beautiful Boy, he has worked alongside prestigious filmmakers such as Christopher Nolan (Interstellar), Greta Gerwig (Daughters of Doctor March), Wes Anderson (The French Dispatch) or Denis Villeneuve, in Dune.

While he recently reprized his role as Paul Atreides in the second opus of the famous science fiction saga, the man who played Willy Wonka last December and who will soon slip into the costume of Bob Dylan has also experienced the uncertainty at the beginning, inaugurating his career as an actor with very small roles before gradually climbing the ladder of glory.

A first role on TV

Indeed, after having played in two modest horror short films at the end of the 2000s, it was at the age of 13 that the young actor took his first steps on a screen: that of television, for the moment, because it is in an episode of the famous detective series New York, Judicial Police that Timothée Chalamet introduces himself to the general public for the first time.

In episode 10 of season 19 titled The oathhe thus played the young Eric Foley, son of a couple of biologists carrying out a controversial study, and found murdered by a mysterious killer at the start of the episode.

The beginning of glory

A fairly modest and rather hasty role, but which will soon be followed by other television appearances for the young Chalamet. Three years later, we can see him in 4 episodes of the medical series Royal Pains as well as in season 2 of Homeland, where he plays the son of the vice-president, who is dating Damian Lewis’ daughter.

Shortly after, in 2014, it was in the cinema that the young actor made his debut, in two major projects: first the dramatic comedy Men, Women & Children by Jason Reitman alongside his friend Ansel Elgort, then Interstellar by Christopher Nolan, in which he plays Matthew McConaughey’s son. In 2017, his career will experience real growth, particularly in the eyes of critics and the profession, with Call Me By Your Name by Luca Guadagnino and Lady Bird by Greta Gerwig.
