He’s been sending Dakota Fanning birthday presents for years

While Tom Cruise is said not to have a relationship with his own daughter Suri, there is someone else he sends birthday presents to every year: Dakota Fanning! The actress revealed this in a new interview.
Suri and Tom Cruise, 61, are said to have had no contact with each other for years. The Hollywood star’s daughter is growing up with her mother Katie Holmes, 45. For her 18th birthday, which Suri celebrates on April 18, 2024, she is unlikely to receive a gift from her famous father; according to insider reports, the two have not seen each other in person since 2012. Instead, it is an actress colleague of Tom’s who has been happy to receive regular presents on her special day for years: Dakota Fanning, 30.

Cruise and Fanning filmed together for the film “World of Wars,” which premiered in 2005. Back then, Dakota was just eleven years old – and with her bright smile and cute poses, she was the undisputed star of every event. The sweet charm of the young actress also won Cruise over at the time. Fanning and Andrew Scott, 47, play the trivia quiz “All About Us” for “Harpar’s Bazaar.” To do this, Scott has to guess who gave his quiz partner her first cell phone. “It must have been a Hollywood icon,” he thinks – and answers correctly: “Tom Cruise!”
He accompanied her from the beginning of her career – until today: Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning in June 2005.

“It was a ‘Razr’, a ‘Motorola Razr,'” Fanning remembers. “Oh my God, I was so excited. I didn’t have anyone to call or text back then, you know, I was eleven,” she laughs. And further explains: “But I loved owning it! I felt so cool.” The producer’s voice can be heard in the background, asking the 30-year-old whether she has been in contact with Cruise to this day. “Tom sends me a birthday present every year, he’s been doing that ever since,” Fanning reveals. Cruise also didn’t miss out on her special day in February: “I got a birthday present for my 30th. So thoughtful, yes, really very nice.” But she doesn’t reveal what exactly she got this year.
Dakota Fanning has been a star in Hollywood since she was a child. At the age of five she starred in her first commercial for a detergent and celebrated her breakthrough in 2001. In the film “I’m Sam”, the then young actress landed one of the main roles and was able to star alongside Sean Penn, 63, and Michelle Pfeiffer, 65. turn. Since then, Fanning has not only been a fixture at events and red carpets, but apparently also on Tom Cruise’s gift list – which probably doesn’t even include his own daughter.
