Expected on July 12 in our theaters, “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning” is presented as the first half of a diptych presented as the conclusion of the saga. But things are not so certain after all.
Is the Mission: Impossible saga really coming to an end? Divided into two parts, respectively expected in cinemas next July 12 and then June 26, 2024, Dead Reckoning looked like the ultimate adventure for the character of Ethan Hunt played by Tom Cruise since 1996.
It had never been officially announced. But the fact that the opus is in two parts (like in Harry Potter or Twilight before) and the return of a character from the first episode (Eugene Kittridge played by Henry Czerny) gave the film the appearance of a loop that comes full circle. Or not.

Is this a bluff intended to maintain the suspense around the end of Mission: Impossible 8? Or a way to prepare us for the fact that, like his character, Tom Cruise does not intend to stop running and doing insane stunts, when the saga will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2026?
Regardless, we still have at least two more films from the franchise to see in theaters this summer and next. And it is in June 2024 that we will know if the Mission: Impossible saga will self-destruct for good.
